1. Get a Closet Kit
Closet kits are designed to fit into unfinished closets, adding a significant amount of storage space. Most closet kits have racks as well as poles, so you can fit everything you need into a single closet. They're rated by size, so take careful measurements first.
2. Purchase Door Hangers
Door hangers can be used to add shelving to doors without having to be drilled into anything. These are commonly used on the inside of bathroom doors and the inside of bedroom doors, in order to store things off the ground. They can also be used for things like spice racks inside of a pantry.
3. Use a Label Maker
A label maker will make it easier to remember where everything is. When storing small items in the kitchen, this is particularly effective; you can put everything in jars and bins and put on a label.
4. Get Space Saver Bags
Space saver bags are vacuum-sealed bags that you put clothes and bedding in. When things are out of season, you can pack them in a space saver bag and then vacuum out all the air. Everything will flatten and take up much less space.
5. Invest in Hideaway Furniture
You can't control the apartment itself, but you can control the furniture. There are beds, couches, ottomans, and tables that all have storage built inside of them. Investing in hideaway furniture can make it easier to keep your stuff neatly tucked away and organized.
6. Consider a Self-Storage Unit
Your apartment lease may run out on you, but your self-storage unit can be forever. If you tend to move from apartment to apartment frequently, you may find it easier to keep some of your least used items in a separate self-storage. You won't need to deal with it on the daily, but you will have it when you need it.
Storage is an important aspect of everyday life. The better organized you are, the less frustrating your life will be. By spending a little extra time adding storage to your apartment, you can make it more comfortable and attractive.

I made a difficult decision to leave the company that I was working for and start a small home interior design business of my own. Since I had limited space in my apartment, I had to find a place to keep all of the things that I needed to present my clients with the ideas that I had come up with.
